Hi, I am Nicole. In real life I have lived my whole 34 years in the San Francisco East Bay. I could have moved away, but when you grow up in a place that the rest of the world is trying to move to, it is hard to justify leaving. Especially when you like food, I can be at a fine dining establishment or a trendy winery within an hour. Nothing is sweeter than that!
Life is sweet is a celebration of my love of all things culinary. I was born a foodie, I came into this world at around 12:30pm earning me the nickname “lunch mouth” by my grandfather. I have always loved food and always been interested in cooking and baking. My only formal training has been in the kitchen of my family, hundreds of cookbooks and the wilton cake decorating courses. I cook for my soon to be and spicy food freak, 13 year old son and for co-workers and family who are always willing guinea pigs.
I hope you enjoy my journey as I build my online culinary travels!

Dear Nicole,
Thank you so much for mentioning my shop on your page recently, what a thrill! You mentioned the cashew cookie with brown butter frosting; it’s based on a recipe from the The Pastry Queen cookbook–I think they call it the Chock Full O’Nuts cookie. Definitely a great book worth having! I also really love their Tres Leche Cake, among many, many other things. The frosting for the cashew cookies is made with brown butter and powdered sugar whirred together in the cuisinart.
Thanks again & happy baking!
Franny
